I realize there’s no punch-line to today’s comic, but I still thought it was worth posting.
My young cousin made the remarks being quoted in the comic while researching for a history report. His observations struck me–and not for the usual reason (Moore’s Law).
Rather, it struck me that within a hundred year’s time the perception of “tool” had grown from a largely mechanical “appliance” with some electricity powering the key elements (like a toaster) into a much more electric and less mechanical design more commonly referred to as (perhaps) a “device” (like a TV).
Today’s comic and post were both my (Evhelm’s) creations.
And for the record: while I can imagine a toaster with a TV in it, I hope I never have to watch Futurama on a slice of bread.
Stay tuned! More entertaining posts to come.
