Well, the real answer should be before tooth-hurty. If you wait until it hurts, well, you know the drill. The other joke on the wrapper was: What fish swims in the sky at night? …Starfish! (Not as punny, in my opinion.)
So, banana? Not as bad as you’d expect. Not good, but not bad. It has an appeal. I had already opened up the wrapper before I realized that the jokes were on the outside. Oh well. I’m a sucker for food with messages, though. Fortune cookies, those Dove chocolates… You could easily replace taffy in this comic with those popsicles with jokes on the sticks.

I just realized something…
The tune the protagonist is singing to is very likely “Peaches” by The Presidents of the United States of America.
…and if it is, that’s eerie since I randomly started listening to the Presidents (again) this week for the first time in years.
Yeah, it is.
At the last minute I was considering changing the first panel to “Moving through the kitchen” so that was even more obvious.
I love the jokes on the laffy taffy rappers, and now I have peaches stuck in my head….
